Economic Times - December 18, 2006 Nihilent Tech to increase headcount by May '07 Nihilent Technologies, a 45-crore software services and consulting company, will increase its headcount from around 700 to over 1000 by May'07. The company, which was primarily serving the South African market is now planning to focus on domestic as well as US and UK markets. With these expansion plans, Nihilent expects a turnover of Rs.70 crore by the end of this fiscal. Nihilent has doubled its staff strength from 300 last year and is expected to close the calendar year '06 with around 800 employees on its rolls. Dimension Data, a global networking major and Paracon, a South Africa based services firm together own 70% stake in Nihilent. Hence, 80% of the company's business comes from South Africa with clients such as Barclays, MTN, South African Airways, among others. The company is now looking at other desitinations such as UK and US. "We have recently acquired three new customers in UK in diverse practices such as publishing, utilities and networking. We are also tying up with some boutique consulting companies in particular sectors such as retail and telecom. This is helping these firms in growth and stability. Since our entry in Indian market last year, we are getting more clients and recently we acquired two strategic clients, one in banking and the other in media", said LC Singh, president and CEO, Nihilent Technologies. The company has three different practices which includes software services, consulting and change management. With an international reach, Nihilent is planning to strengthen its change management business. The company is also into helping clients set up captive Business Process Outsourcing units.       Back |
