CSI Nihilent eGovernance Awards 2002 – 2018

Nihilent and the Computer Society of India jointly instituted and managed the CSI – Nihilent e-Governance Awards for recognizing the contributions made in the field of e-Governance in the country. Instituted in 2002, the basic objective of these awards has been to recognize and appreciate the successful efforts by Indian State and Center Governments, Departments and Districts in achieving good governance using Information and Communication Technologies.

An independent selection committee drawn from the industry, academia and the government adjudicates the awards while the selection process includes visits by a team of experts to sites to assess the project implementation and the impact on the people benefited by such projects. The evaluation process is based on parameters categorized in Results and Enablers framework and is designed to ensure that final selections are based on a totally transparent and appropriate framework. Held for the last fifteen years, these prestigious awards have received tremendous response and their pre-eminence is widely recognized. The awards function is attended by dignitaries from the IT industry, as well as personalities from government and non-government organizations.

Every year, a compendium of selected best entries of case studies from the year’s awards is published and released. The compilation gives an insight to all stakeholders in e-governance and shares the critical success factors in the implementation process.

Nihilent has taken several initiatives to partner governments across the world in moving in the direction of good governance.
