Nihilent Launches Drive to Recruit South African Nationals

Johannesburg, Feb 16 2015: Nihilent Technologies, an India incorporated South African owned global consulting firm recently launched a recruitment drive for South African nationals, at its Johannesburg office. As part of the drive, Nihilent has decided to recruit up to 150 South African citizens, train them and provide employment opportunities with Nihilent as well as its clients.

This announcement comes in the wake of the Government of South Africa’s initiatives to promote talent and provide employment opportunities to the citizens of the country. Through this move, it is expected that the number of expatriates working with the company on South African shores will be reduced to comprise not more than 50% of the workforce, though in a phased manner. In demonstrating its commitment to the Government’s plan, Nihilent has already recruited 31 South African citizens in a short span of five months, from Oct 2014 to date. These recruits are currently employed in IT and consulting roles, as well as support functions such as Sales, HR and Administration. Whilst working alongside our global experts in the field of IT and consulting, these personnel would benefit from the experience of the expats and also the exposure to challenging projects.
Nihilent has been championing local capability building for a while now. It may be recalled that in the recent past, the company had launched another internship program for fourteen young South African computer science graduates or similarly qualified candidates from the country. The program comprises a month long intensive class room based training in IT followed by a 17 months On the Job Training( OJT) at one of Nihilent’s client sites. The internship programme is already into its fourth month now, and the candidates are expected to be absorbed into Nihilent or the client work force at the successful completion of the program.
